Strengthening Women Groups in Delta

The township level women groups networking meeting had been held in Ohn Pin village in Dedaye Township. 72 representatives of 38 women groups form Dedaye, Pyapon and Tawentay Townships have attended this meeting. With the initiative of these women groups, LWF team was pleased to support them to achieve their objectives of the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting are to strength the network of women groups among three townships and to exchange the knowledge, experience, and find out practical ways to overcome their common and individual challenges.

Ensuring and reflecting the vision, mission, operation structure, roles and responsibilities of each women groups were highlighted and discussed in the meeting as an important and essential part for achieving their long term goals and sustainability of the network. Our livelihood coordinator discussed the business opportunities in each local region and also the challenges of being a small business owner.

In this meeting, the awareness on gender and the protection of women from domestic violence have been presented to the participants by our Human Right Coordinator. And also our training team has an opportunity to share and introduce “Myanmar Artisan Toolkit Level-1” which is a kind of business guide and fascinated their attentions and interests for those who would like to start up/grow up their individual and cooperative business with the objective of women roles in economic development.
