The Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS)

In 2013,The Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP), People In Aid and the Sphere Project, came together under the Joint Standards Initiative (JSI) with the common goal of making it simpler and easier for aid workers to implement standards.

The members of the CHS Alliance - over 240 national and international organisations working in more than 160 countries - commit to adopting, using and monitoring the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), with the objective of making humanitarian action more appropriate, effective, and responsive to the needs of people and communities affected by crises.The LWF World Service is the member of CHS Alliances.

Inter-Agency Standing Committee

The Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) is the primary mechanism for inter-agency coordination of humanitarian assistance. It is a unique forum involving the key UN and non-UN humanitarian partners. The IASC was established in June 1992 in response» to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 46/182 on the strengthening of humanitarian assistance.

AZEECON

The LWF/DWS Asia program have a long history of informal co-operation. AZEECON was formed in December 1997 in order to expand and strengthen regional co-operation to support grassroots-work in-country in emergency preparedness and management, and related environmental issues as all the member countries have common vulnerability to natural disasters. They have similar experiences in emergency, environmental work and disaster preparedness but low level of exchange and interaction concerning the issue AZEECON was realized and materialised. It aims at strengthening capacity, performance, quality and effectiveness of its partners. Besides promoting integration of development and emergency components of programmes it also promotes practical co-operation and co-ordination amongst regional partners.
