Five Days Consultation on Anglican-Lutheran-Buddhists Relation Holding in Yangon

Consultation on Anglican-Lutheran-Buddhists Relations is conducting at Bishopscourt this morning.

The consultation workshop is holding for five days under five main objectives of (1) listening positive stories of engagement of Anglicans, Lutherans and other Christians with Buddhists, (2) Experiencing and listening to Buddhist Scholars about their expectations and perspectives for a better relationship, (3) Reflecting together on topics of mutual importance including action together, living together, prayer and meditation, (4) Discussing and developing strategies for future relation between Anglicans, Lutherans and Buddhists around the world, and (5) Working towards a publication which could serve as a guide book for developing Buddhist-Christian relations.

During the section, LWF Myanmar – Deputy Program Coordinator – Francesca P. Traglia shared Counter hate-speech and incitement to violence, Combat discrimination and violence against ethnic, religious and other minorities and Strengthen interfaith and inter-ethnic understanding and harmony from 20 UPR Accepted Recommendations by the Myanmar Government in 2016.

The consultation is intended to concentrate on opening up conversations on themes relevant both at grassroots level and at theological and philosophical levels. The consultation also aim to help identify signposts towards spirituality, evangelism, growth and reconciliation.
