Closing Ceremony of Sewing and Designing Training conducted at Ann, Rakhine State

As the part of project activities of Women Empowerment Livelihood Program, LWF Myanmar and Ministry of Border Affair had cooperated to organize Sewing and Designing Training for the youth girl from Ann Township, Rakhine.

The training course is designed for 3 months and it was conducted from September to end of November, 2017. In total of 25 female from 21 villages in 3 Village Tract of Sa Kan Maw, Taik Maw and Gel Laung had been participated at the training. The training was held at the vocational training school of Ministry of Border Affair in Ann.

The training completed on November 31 and celebrated closing ceremony at Ann by letting them make their owned uniform dress for the event. It is one of an evidence of their sewing and designing skill at the end of the training.

Throughout the training, LWF Myanmar had provided learning materials and also supported Sewing Machine to each participant for strengthening sustainable livelihood in Ann Township, Rahine State.

Opportunities for vocational related training for youth are intended to be improved women empowerment and reduce possibilities of youth migration to the other areas. This can also motivate to local youth girl for future dream. LWF Myanmar is strengthening Women Empowerment in Myanmar through creating spaces for learning opportunities and exposure trip to share knowledge among women network groups from different areas.
